Marcus L. Fontenot, is a partner in Fontenot & Ludeau, LLC. He is a proud veteran and former member of the United States Navy. Following his time in the service, Marcus received a BS degree from Louisiana State University and his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans Law School in 2001.
Marcus is an experienced litigation attorney with a primary focus on the representation of injured clients in both individual and class action matters. He has successfully represented individuals in complex personal injury matters involving spinal injuries, traumatic brain injuries, wrongful death and other injuries resulting from automobile accidents, commercial trucking accidents, maritime/offshore accidents, medical negligence and premises defects. He has been successful in recovering millions of dollars for his clients.
Marcus is also the First Assistant District Attorney for the 13th Judicial District, Parish of Evangeline. As Assistant District Attorney for over a decade, Marcus has been the lead trial attorney in successful jury trials involving a multitude of complex criminal matters. As a result, Marcus is able to utilize this knowledge and experience in a trial setting for the benefit of his personal injury clients. An attorney who knows his way around the courtroom is not afraid to take a matter to trial in order to get his client what he truly deserves.
Marcus currently serves as the President of the Evangeline Parish Bar Association and a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Association for Justice. Marcus has served as a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates and on the Board of Directors for the Lafayette Parish Young Lawyers Association.
